Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Corner Bird website, your participant account, research tasks called missions, your submissions and voucher rewards. Please read them before creating an account or applying for a mission.
1. About Corner Bird
Corner Bird is a trading name of:
Nestium Technologies OÜ
Registry code: 17500052
Registered address: Harju maakond, Tallinn, Lasnamäe linnaosa, Katusepapi tn 6, 11412, Estonia
Support: hello@cornerbird.com
Privacy: privacy@cornerbird.com
In these Terms, Corner Bird, we, us and our mean Nestium Technologies OÜ. You means the person who creates or uses a participant account.
2. Accepting these Terms
You accept these Terms when you create an account or otherwise indicate acceptance. If you do not agree, do not create an account or participate in a mission.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Accepting these Terms is not blanket consent to all personal-data processing. We request separate consent where the law requires it.
The website may call a research task a mission. The words task and mission have the same meaning in these Terms.
3. Eligibility
To use Corner Bird, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- live in, or be lawfully present and able to complete missions in, a supported country and mission area;
- be legally able to enter into these Terms and each mission agreement;
- provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date; and
- maintain only one account, unless Corner Bird gives you written permission to have another.
Corner Bird may reject an account or panel application. Creating an account does not guarantee acceptance, mission invitations, work or rewards.
4. Registration and account security
Registration currently uses your email address and secure magic-link authentication. Keep your email account and devices secure. Do not forward sign-in links or allow another person to use your Corner Bird account.
Contact hello@cornerbird.com promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Corner Bird may add other sign-in providers in the future. A provider shown at sign-in may also apply its own terms and privacy notice.
If we identify unusual or potentially fraudulent activity, we may request proportionate additional verification, such as a phone number or identity information. We will provide an appropriate notice before collecting it. Failure to complete reasonably required verification may prevent access to a mission, reward redemption or continued account use.
5. Our relationship with participants and clients
Corner Bird offers missions directly to participants, contracts for the resulting research, reviews submissions, decides whether they meet the acceptance criteria and owes any approved reward.
Our business, public-sector, university and research clients separately purchase research services or research data from Corner Bird. You do not enter into a contract with a client merely by applying for or completing a mission.
Corner Bird may license accepted research to one or more current or future clients. As explained in the mission notice and Privacy Policy, project data may include a participant ID, individual answers, necessary photographs, mission location, recordings, transcripts or derived research. We do not ordinarily give clients your Corner Bird account name, email address, phone number or other account contact details.
A client's identity may remain confidential unless disclosure is required for the mission or by law. Your data-protection rights concerning recipients are explained in the Privacy Policy.
6. Optional participation and no guarantee of missions
You decide whether to apply for, ignore or decline any mission. There is no minimum workload or exclusivity requirement, and there is no penalty for declining.
Mission availability depends on research demand, location, profile, eligibility, response quality, fraud checks and project capacity. Corner Bird does not guarantee any amount or frequency of missions, work or rewards.
7. Applications and participant selection
You may need to answer screening or eligibility questions before Corner Bird decides whether you fit a mission. Answer them accurately.
We may use profile information, screening answers, location, previous response quality, an internal quality score and fraud indicators. Human reviewers or automated systems may assist selection. We do not disclose exact scores, model logic or anti-fraud thresholds where doing so could undermine research integrity or security.
You may request human review of a significant adverse decision involving suspected fraud, account suspension or termination, cancellation of an approved reward, or a material restriction on future mission access. We do not promise human review of every routine decision not to select an applicant for a particular mission.
Applying for a mission does not mean that you have been selected. You may begin only after Corner Bird confirms acceptance and makes the mission available to you.
8. The mission brief
Before you accept or begin a mission, its brief will state the information relevant to that mission, including where applicable:
- its purpose, required actions, format and acceptance criteria;
- required location and whether GPS, manual location or photograph metadata is collected;
- the deadline and estimated completion time;
- the reward amount and currency;
- any required purchase, travel, admission or other cost and whether it is reimbursed or included in the reward;
- whether a product may be kept, returned or disposed of, and who pays return costs;
- photograph, audio or video requirements;
- who will attend an interview, shop-along or in-person session;
- whether a session will be recorded, who may receive it, how it may be reused and its retention or licensing period;
- whether sensitive personal data is requested and what separate consent or other legal condition applies; and
- any confidentiality, safety or venue-specific requirements.
Contact Corner Bird before beginning if important information is missing or unclear.
An interest-registration or screening mission does not include a later survey, interview or visit unless the brief clearly says so. A later stage is a separate mission with its own requirements, reward and terms.
9. Completing missions
You must:
- complete the mission personally, unless the brief expressly permits another arrangement;
- follow the brief, deadline, safety requirements and lawful instructions;
- provide genuine, accurate and complete answers and materials;
- comply with applicable law and respect other people's rights;
- keep confidential briefs, client materials, interview links and unreleased research private; and
- contact Corner Bird if a safety, legal or technical problem prevents compliant completion.
You must not:
- fabricate a visit, answer, photograph, recording or other evidence;
- duplicate submissions or manipulate location data;
- use another person's identity or account;
- use bots or unauthorised automation to complete a mission; or
- harass staff, clients, researchers, other participants or members of the public.
10. Photographs, location and third-party rights
Do not intentionally photograph or record identifiable people, faces, vehicle registration plates, private interiors, personal documents, payment information or restricted property unless the mission expressly requires it and lawful permission is in place.
Never make a covert audio or video recording. Do not trespass, enter staff-only areas, ignore signs, interfere with staff or customers, or claim authority you do not have.
Depending on the mission, Corner Bird may verify location using device GPS, a location you enter, photograph metadata, a venue or an approximate task area. Location is collected only while you apply for, verify or complete the relevant mission. Corner Bird does not conduct continuous or background location tracking.
Refusing required location access may make you ineligible for that mission but does not prevent unrelated participation.
If unrelated personal information is captured accidentally, Corner Bird may blur, crop, mute, remove or delete it. We may reject material that cannot be made suitable. You must respect copyright, privacy, confidentiality, property and other third-party rights.
11. Live sessions and recordings
A live mission may involve Corner Bird personnel, a client or an authorised external researcher. The brief will identify the attendee roles and explain any disclosure of your face, voice or identity. Participation is optional.
If a session is recorded, you must separately agree to the recording notice. Unless that notice states a shorter period, Corner Bird may edit, analyse, transcribe and license an identifiable recording to more than one client for the disclosed research purposes for up to three years after recording.
Recordings will not be published publicly or used in advertising unless you sign a separate release that clearly describes that use.
12. Submission review
Corner Bird will normally accept a completed submission, request clarification or reject it within 30 calendar days after submission.
A clarification request must reasonably relate to the original mission and its acceptance criteria. You normally have seven calendar days to respond unless the mission notice gives another reasonable period.
We may reject a submission that is incomplete, inaccurate, late, duplicated, unsafe, fabricated, fraudulent, unlawful, inconsistent with required location or evidence, or materially fails to meet the brief. If you decline a necessary clarification and the original submission cannot be verified, we may reject it.
Corner Bird will not use a clarification request to demand materially expanded research without offering an additional reward.
13. Rejection and disputes
If we reject a completed mission, we will provide a short general reason where reasonably possible. You may dispute the rejection within 14 calendar days by contacting hello@cornerbird.com and providing relevant corrections or evidence.
Corner Bird may protect confidential client information, security thresholds and anti-fraud logic. Significant automated decisions are eligible for human review as described in Section 7.
Rejected submissions are not licensed to clients for commercial research. We may retain limited rejected material where necessary to resolve a dispute, investigate fraud, protect security or comply with law.
14. Technical problems and cancellation
If a technical problem prevents timely submission, contact hello@cornerbird.com before or shortly after the deadline and provide available evidence. After a reasonable assessment, we may allow an extension or manual submission.
Corner Bird may cancel a mission. If cancellation happens after you begin and you provide compliant evidence of work already completed, Corner Bird will determine a fair partial reward based on the work completed and any reasonable costs the brief said we would cover.
Once Corner Bird accepts a completed submission, client delay, non-payment or cancellation does not remove our obligation to credit the approved reward.
15. Intellectual property in accepted submissions
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content and grant the rights in this section. You remain responsible for third-party material you include contrary to the mission instructions.
When Corner Bird accepts a submission and credits the reward, you assign to Corner Bird, to the fullest extent permitted by law, all transferable intellectual-property rights in that accepted submission.
Where an assignment is unavailable, incomplete or ineffective, you grant Corner Bird an exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable and royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, store, translate, edit, adapt, analyse, combine, commercialise, license and provide the accepted submission to clients for lawful research and commercial-analysis purposes.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree not to assert moral rights in a way that prevents authorised use of an accepted submission.
This section does not give Corner Bird ownership of personal data or remove rights provided by data-protection law. Our processing of personal data remains subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
16. Available Reward Balance
When Corner Bird accepts a completed mission, the stated reward is added to your Available Reward Balance.
The balance currency is based on your registered country: EUR for supported euro-area countries, PLN for Poland and CZK for Czechia. Changing your country does not automatically convert existing rewards.
The balance is a record of your non-cash entitlement to request eligible vouchers. It is not cash, electronic money, stored credit, a bank or payment account, or a deposit. You cannot:
- add your own money;
- withdraw cash;
- earn interest;
- transfer value to another person;
- sell or exchange the balance; or
- use it outside Corner Bird.
Corner Bird does not make charitable donations on a participant's behalf and does not offer a donation option unless the service and these Terms are expressly updated.
17. Reward expiry and order of use
Each approved mission reward expires 12 months after it is credited. Your account will show the applicable expiry dates.
Corner Bird uses the oldest valid reward first when processing a redemption. We will not expire an affected reward while a timely redemption request or dispute concerning it remains unresolved.
18. Voucher redemption and delivery
- Available providers, brands, countries, currencies and minimum denominations depend on the live catalogue and may change.
- Corner Bird may use Xoxoday Plum, Tremendous, Blackhawk Network or BHN, and other suitable providers.
- No particular brand, provider or denomination is guaranteed.
- Before you confirm a redemption, we will show the voucher's value, provider and important restrictions or expiry information available to us.
- Corner Bird charges no redemption or delivery fee. You receive the full voucher value displayed at confirmation.
- Corner Bird will deliver the selected voucher or code within 30 calendar days after a valid redemption request.
- If a requested voucher becomes unavailable, we may offer a reasonably equivalent option or restore the amount to your Available Reward Balance. The affected reward's expiry is paused while we cannot provide a suitable option.
- The voucher issuer's terms, availability, territorial limits and expiry rules apply after a valid voucher has been issued.
Corner Bird must honour accepted reward obligations. A client's delay or non-payment, or a shortage of company funds, does not cancel an approved reward.
19. Invalid, lost and expired vouchers
Report an invalid voucher to hello@cornerbird.com within 30 calendar days after delivery. Corner Bird will investigate and, if the code was invalid when delivered and remains unused, replace it or restore the corresponding amount to your Available Reward Balance.
Keep voucher codes secure. Except where mandatory law provides otherwise, Corner Bird is not responsible for a valid code that you lose, disclose to another person, redeem, or allow to expire.
20. Reward corrections and fraud
Corner Bird may temporarily pause redemption while investigating suspected fraud, duplicate accounts, manipulation, a security incident or an incorrect credit. You may request human review of a significant decision.
After confirmed fraud or a material breach, we may cancel rewards directly connected to that conduct. Legitimate, unrelated rewards remain available subject to their original expiry, unless mandatory law permits another result.
21. Taxes and legal reporting
Voucher rewards may constitute taxable income, compensation or reportable consideration under the laws that apply to you. You are responsible for determining and meeting your personal tax obligations. Corner Bird does not provide tax advice and does not represent that rewards are tax-free.
Where required by applicable law, including tax-reporting rules that may implement the EU DAC7 Directive, Corner Bird may:
- request your legal name, address, tax-identification number or other required information;
- verify required information;
- report participant, mission and reward information to a competent authority; or
- apply legally required withholding.
Corner Bird does not collect tax-identification numbers during ordinary registration. If legally required information is not provided when requested, we may be unable to offer further missions or issue further rewards.
22. Participation status and insurance
Each accepted mission is a separate participation arrangement. You have no obligation to accept missions, and Corner Bird does not guarantee work. You ordinarily use your own device, decide whether to apply and arrange your own travel. The mission brief controls the required location, deadline, method and quality standard.
The legal classification of the relationship depends on the facts and mandatory law. Nothing in these Terms removes employment, worker, platform-work, contractor or similar rights that applicable law gives you.
Corner Bird does not provide special participant accident insurance. This does not exclude liability that Corner Bird cannot lawfully exclude, including liability for injury caused by its negligence where applicable.
23. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or encourage unlawful activity;
- hack, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, disrupt or bypass service security;
- create fake or duplicate accounts or impersonate another person;
- interfere with participant selection, location checks, voucher delivery or fraud controls;
- upload malware or content that infringes privacy, confidentiality or other rights;
- sell, transfer or share your account, mission access, reward balance or voucher code; or
- use Corner Bird, client information or research materials for an unauthorised commercial purpose.
24. Suspension, termination and account closure
Corner Bird may immediately suspend an account where reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, security, legal compliance or safety.
We may restrict or close an account for a material or repeated breach of these Terms, confirmed fraud, persistent failure to meet quality requirements, abuse, unlawful conduct, or a material risk to Corner Bird, clients or others. We will ordinarily provide notice and a general reason unless law, security or an investigation prevents it.
You may close your account at any time. Redeem available rewards before closing it. After an ordinary closure, valid unexpired rewards remain redeemable for 30 calendar days, subject to each reward's original 12-month expiry. The same 30-day period applies if Corner Bird closes the service or your account for reasons unrelated to your fraud or material breach.
Account closure does not require Corner Bird to delete accepted research, anonymised data, client-recipient records, fraud evidence or accounting information that we may lawfully retain. The Privacy Policy explains retention and your data-protection rights.
25. Third-party services
Corner Bird relies on hosting, email, analytics, advertising, AI and voucher providers. Their availability and terms may affect the service.
Corner Bird remains responsible for delivering a valid approved reward as stated in these Terms. We do not control a voucher issuer's shops, transport network, product availability or lawful provider restrictions after a valid code has been issued.
26. Changes to the service
Corner Bird may add, change or discontinue features, mission types, supported locations, authentication methods, providers and voucher catalogues.
Changes will not reduce an already credited reward, shorten its existing expiry or retroactively change the reward for an accepted mission. If a material service change affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.
27. Service availability and disclaimers
Corner Bird aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access, selection for a mission, any volume of missions, any particular voucher brand or continued availability in a location.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a statutory guarantee, legal duty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
28. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- wilful misconduct or gross negligence where it cannot be limited;
- breach of data-protection duties where limitation is prohibited; or
- any other liability that mandatory law does not allow Corner Bird to exclude or limit.
Corner Bird is responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Corner Bird is not responsible for:
- indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable;
- business loss, lost profit or lost opportunity suffered in a business capacity;
- loss caused by your breach, unsafe conduct or inaccurate information;
- loss caused by your disclosure, misuse or loss of a valid voucher code; or
- delay or failure caused by an event outside Corner Bird's reasonable control, provided we take reasonable steps to limit its effects.
This section does not reduce any mandatory participant, consumer, worker, employment or data-protection right or remedy.
29. Changes to these Terms
Corner Bird may update these Terms for legal, security, operational or service reasons. We will update the effective date and provide reasonable advance notice of material changes by email, website notification or both.
Changes will not retroactively alter an accepted mission, reduce an approved reward or shorten an existing reward expiry. If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop applying for missions and close your account before the change takes effect.
30. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and the relationship between you and Corner Bird are governed by Estonian law.
This choice does not deprive you of mandatory rights or protections available under the law of the country where you habitually reside or work. Courts have jurisdiction as determined by applicable law.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact hello@cornerbird.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter. This does not prevent you from contacting a court, regulator, data-protection authority, labour authority, tax authority or consumer body where you have the right to do so.
